Great color, mixes well

"Great color, mixes well with wax."

Tabatha L. (5/5)

My Favorite Candle Dye

"The dye chips are so easy to use! And available in a great assortment of colors. The sizing is easy to adjust, just slice off what you need with a small knife. I add Black to neutralize brighter colors. Thanks Flaming Candle!"

Made with soy wax

"The chips are convenient. But my wax was more of a gray color and I put quite a bit. However, I did read that soy doesn't take color that well. So next time I will try paraffin wax and see what happens."

Chante M. (3/5)

Love it

"I don't use color in my candles but wanted to use them for my wax melts. I love using the chips. They are so easy to use and not messy at all."

LaToya K. (5/5)

More Grey than black

"This candle dries into a grayish black. This may have been fine if I hadn't had experience with finding a true jet black dye elsewhere Also the Hunter green is not true hunter green. Nor the burgandy a true burgandy in the dye chips"

Tia D. (2/5)

Bluish black.

"It was a overall good experience just a little more of a blackish blue color"

Black dye chips

"Easy to use"

Color

"The black comes out more purple. . . ."

Tosha (2/5)

Not the blackest black. . .

"I love grey, so let me start by saying, this was not a total loss for me. I like the dye chips because they are easy and consistent. I wanted to do a black candle, and even overcompensated (or I thought?) and did 3 chips in 16oz of C-3 soy wax, and I got a deep grey. Maybe next time I'll add 5 and see what happens! To do a lot of candles in black, I think I will stick to the liquid, but will use these for grey."

Q&A

Does this give off any sort of smell? What was the fragrance load that you found worked best with this? Do I need to subtract the weight of the chips from the actual wax weight? TIA
Hi There, Thank you for reaching out to us. The dye chips have a slight smell but nothing over-powering to off put the smell of your candles. Fragrance load is dependent upon the type of wax you are using and not the dye you are adding itself. No, it is not necessary to subtract the weight of dye chips from your amount of wax. The recommended amount to use is 1 dye chip per pound of wax. Hope this helps!
