Why did my Goat's milk change colors? I used 1lb of goat's milk to 1oz of vanilla FO. with the soap dye (blue). I put one of the soaps in a sandwich bag, and on the 3rd day it changed to a grey color. Now I noticed that the other bars are changing to a grey also. I melted it in the mw. @ 30 second intervals. I need to know what it might be.

Thank you for reaching out to us! Unfortunately, soap can sometimes change colors when fragrance oils are used that have a higher vanillin content in their chemical composition. Specifically, the vanilla fragrance oil you used has very high vanillin and ethyl vanillin percents. These ingredients mixed with the blue liquid soap dye you used more than likely caused the soap to discolor to the grey color you are describing. We would suggest testing out your soap without the vanilla fragrance oil added to see if you have the same result. You may be able to use other fragrance oils with lower percentages of vanillin and ethyl vanillin where this issue does not occur. Hope this helps!
