need more drops to get the color you want

"The dye itself is easy to use, smells a little weird when you add it to the melted wax. I saw something about using 7 drops per pound of wax. I had 2 pounds of wax and I used 21 drops. The color came out grey. Not a huge deal, it still mixed up well and looks good, I was expecting a darker color. Next time I will use more dye and do the quick test (put a bit of melted was on a paper towel, cools quickly so you can see final color)"

Smells like gasoline

"The scent smells like gasoline or something strong chemicals in it. It ruins the batch i made for the Midnight Vanilla! The scent is stronger than the fragrance we put in it. So not recommended at all!"

Pure Black Goodness!

"This dye is fantastic. It gives a good dark black with little hassle. FINALLY!"

Strong smell

"The color it's self is fine. The smell is so bad! Every liquid dye I purchased from TFC has been so strong! I'm making test candles for my collection. Im just 2 years into candle making and working to launch a successful business. As I'm sure many of candle makers know this is the hardest part of the business is running test. Having to smell this dye so strong is very discouraging. I have a headache from making them because the smell is so strong. I only used I couple of drops for a small batch of wax melts to get them as black as I needed. I've loved everything I've gotten from TFC and I've used the dye and the smell has always gone away. This however is too overpowering!"

Best black dye

"Literally the best black dye for candle making. I've used at least a dozen other brands, this actually gets the wax black"

Smells TERRIBLE!

"This smells terrible. I opened it and was so sick by the smell I threw the whole brand new bottle away. Which sucks because it was money. I don't have this problem with the other colors ."

Great tone

"I bought this black liquid dye for my candles and it looks great once the wax it's completely dry. You only need a few drops to make black ,I used to need way more than just a few drops with my old dye so I definitely recommend this"

Best black

"This is the best black I've ever used. I sell lights of black candles, they are made to order, so I've used all my fragrances. It does take more than some of the others to get a true full shade, but believe me when I tell you that is absolutely the nature of black. So you'll get a stronger dye smell, it goes away! I've never smelled it once the candle is burning, even with my lighter scents."
