Step 1

Prepare your round pillar mold. Thread a wick through the hole in the mold and seal the hole.

Step 2

Weigh out 45 oz ProBlend 650 Para-Soy Votive Wax and 15-20 drops of the Black Liquid Candle Dye into a pouring pot. Melt to 185°F.

Step 3

Let cool to around 170°F. Add 3 oz of Crystal Bones Fragrance Oil.

Step 4

Pour the wax into your mold and allow to set up.  Votive and pillar candles generally require a second pour, which should be approximately 10° hotter than the initial pour to ensure the wax binds together.

Step 5

Once set up, remove the candle from the mold.

Step 6

Painting the Webs: Melt 2 oz. of the candle wax in a clean pouring pot.

Step 7

Using a paintbrush, dip brush into melted wax and apply to pillar candle. Wax will cool fast, so this must be done quickly.

Step 8

Using a thin brush, paint four to six lines. Think of it as if you are cutting a pie.  We started with a plus sign and added two additional lines.

Step 9

Starting near the center, paint small curved lines that connect each spoke, moving outward to create rows of webbing.

Step 10

Allow the wax to set up.
