Golden Brands GW 444 Soy Wax Flakes
Golden Brands GW 444 is a natural soy wax containing a soy based additive to reduce frosting. The soy based additive and a higher melt point enable it to retain a higher fragrance load and improve scent throw. GW 444 is designed for use in container candles and blends well with other waxes, such as paraffin, slack, and microcrystalline wax. It is not recommended to blend GW 444 with beeswax.
Melt Point: 119 - 125°
Suggested Pouring Temperature: 125 - 145°

- Wick testing is recommended to achieve optimal burning characteristics and will vary with different combinations of wax, fragrance, dye, and container size

I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT WICKS TO USE

I tried several waxes and the 444 gave me the best results. Good hot and cold throw with smooth tops.
White ring and discolored melt pool
Posted by Mallory on 12th Feb 2019
My candles look beautiful before they are actually burned. Once they are burned and the melt pool has solidified again, the wax that was melted changes the color I have died my candle to add a light brown undertone to it and there is also a white ring around the diameter of the candle where the wax had melted, almost like a residue... crappy thing is I bought 50 pounds of this wax!! I'm trying to use the vybar additive in hopes it might help but I haven't tested a newer batch yet since iv added the additive... I thought mabey my wicks were old since I use wooden wicks but iv bought new wicks and this has not helped...

Having a hard time getting smooth finish
Posted by Ava Johnston on 10th Apr 2018
This wax works well on the 4 oz jars, but I cannot get a smooth finish on the 8 oz jars to save my life! Have tested the 464 with better results.

Yes and No

I had zero frosting and nice smooth tops. Great hot and cold throw. However after burning 2 different scented candles after letting them cure for almost 2 weeks, I noticed it doesn't particularly re-dry nicely. There's a few holes near the wick on both and a ring of white a few centimeters above the wax on the container. (I dyed both candles orange, so I'm not sure if this is the wax or the color.) I'm not sure if I will be sticking with this wax but I loved everything else besides the weird re-drying!
Good, reliable wax

I really like this wax for my essential oil based candles. It always comes out smooth on the surface, even with color added and works well in hot, humid climates too. Fast and reliable service always from The Flaming Candle Co, thank you.
