My favorite!

"I overthink everything but I believe that’s why I love this wax. I always make my candles the exact same way, same temps, same amount of dye, fragrance, etc. and rarely experience issues, it’s a very repeatable wax! I’ve NEVER experienced frosting and get “slight” tunneling on 1 for every 20 or so. I mainly use 11. 5 and 14 ounce containers and either double or triple wick with ECO 2s, depending on the size of the container. I’ve had great luck with a single ECO 2 in smaller 8 ounce tins too with full melt pools after 2 1/2-3 hours. I’ve only experienced two tiny issues, one I wish it could dye brighter colors but the soy keeps colors slightly subdued. Second I’ve noticed slight variations in this wax when purchased from different companies so if you have luck with this wax try to keep buying it from the same place (and hope they don’t like to mess with their recipes constantly). If you’re looking for a great container, single pour wax IGI 6006 won’t let you down."

Easy to use. Great results.

"I love this wax! Let me just say I use ALL the waxes, I am not bias at all when it comes to using any wax to get a result I am after. For my larger candles that I want to throw really hard or for super light scents I want to work better, this wax is amazing. I personally find it a little more difficult to wick smaller containers like 8 oz and humbly I feel like it's inconsistent with wood wicks, but with a double cotton wick 12-14 oz candle, this is my go to wax. Excellent results. The recipe I have with this wax and candles that size never fails me. No sooting when properly wicked and not over fragranced."

I'm fixed on 6006. . .

"I've been kinda sorta entering into the candle making business for about 18 months now. Ove used 2 types of Soy wax, 1 type of soy coconut wax and now I've tried the 6006 wax. I'm not sure why but at times it cures after 25 hrs or so, so very smooth, so very perfect. I almost fell of my chair, lol, when I checked on the candles and they were just so perfect. I didn't need to heat gun but I did for like 20 seconds just to give finishing touches. But other times and I'm finding more often I get that one tunnel towards one side of the wick and it is quite sizable, maybe a pea and a half size. I heat gun, poke around the whole wick just to be sure of getting all the tunneling, let it cure and give it another mild heat gunning. The other waxes tunnel as well so I am used to that. But the feeling you get when you don't have to use a heat gun to get your smooth top is so beyond expectation, so beyond what you think might be possible, is so, I mean, what's the wird. . . . driving. it gives you a boost, a sudden drive to keep going, keep craving that smooth top again. Of course it's more notes, more making different candles to see exactly how it happened, but that's candle making, isn't it. That's candle making. Making what in your opinion, your experience and your presentation to your customer is what it's all about. It's not necessarily perfect or always, "the perfect candle", but it is the best, almost scientific result that you worked for. I think 6006 is smooth, so white, so consistently attractive that it kind of gives you that second wind. It gives you that needed sense of satisfaction and longing, so to speak, to always get it right. I won't stop experimenting with other new waxes, but I definitely won't stop using my new found second wind wax. 6006 is tops, lol, pun intended. . ."

Q&A

What are the best wicks to use for this wax?
Hi Doretha! We've had good results with the Premier 700 series, although some customers prefer HTP or CD wicks.
What's wicks are best with this wax? I use 3-4 inch in diameter vessels and dye can't seem to find a good wick
Hi Mandy, we recommend the Premier 700 series wicks with this wax. You can refer to our Wick Guide for a size range to begin your testing.
I've tried several different wicks can't seem to get a HT for 8in candle tins with this wax any suggestions please help thank you .
Hi Vegas! Most types of wicks work well with IGI 6006. Consider testing the Premier 700 Series -- our Wick Guide (located in our website Resource Center) can provide a size range to begin testing for this diameter. Many factors can affect hot throw. Please email info@theflamingcandle.com if you need further assistance.
I've made a few candles with this wax and they have been frosting pretty heavily. I was hoping this wax wouldn't frost since it had more paraffin than soy. Do you have suggestions on how to prevent this?
Hi Lauren, IGI 6006 is not especially prone to frosting, so it may be related to temperature. Pre-warming your jars, keeping a consistent temp while curing, and cooling your candles on a raised, ventilated baking rack can help mitigate this bloom. Some also find it helpful to experiment with pouring temperatures or add small amounts of stearic acid. You can use a heat gun after the fact to minimize the appearance of frosting, although it will most likely reappear. If you'd like to email info@theflamingcandle.com with details of your formulation and testing process, we will be happy to assist further.
Can you blend this with 464? Looking for a better hot throw but I am worried about the paraffin. Thank u
Hi Moe! IGI 6006 and 464 can be blended, but 6006 typically provides a strong throw as-is. ProBlend 600 is similar to IGI 6006 but has more soy and less paraffin.
