Oil doesn't blend

"I was so excited to try this but was quickly disappointed to find that no matter what temp I heated and cooled the wax to and poured it, the oil does not mix and it sits on top of it. When the wax is in molds, when you go to take it out it just crumbles when fragrance is added to it."

BEGINNER BEGINNER!!! love this site

"I decided to make my first trial and error candle making the day after Christmas although I have been purchasing items for the last 2 months. well, I decided to use the "Absolute Beginner Recipe" of 6 Straight Sided Jars on the site for first time candle makers and my first try. I followed the usage the best way I could from what I had on hand. It stated to use ECO 14 but I didn't have any, so I used what I had of ECO 12 instead and this is a trial and error so why not. Soy CW 415 in a Clear Straight Sided Jars, 3. 6 oz Garden Lilac Fragrance and 1/2 Violet Die Block. well, I only had 1oz (1 bottle) of the fragrance, so I made up the difference with other fragrance oil, I used Eucalyptus Forest and part Sandalwood & Suede and part Lavender Vetiver, I know that's 4 fragrances, but it said 3. 6oz however This scent together was an amazing smell, absolutely loved it. now my problem was, when I melted the wax, added the fragrance and chip and then poured into the jars, I was a half of jar short of wax. the last jar only filled up halfway I was so disappointed and don't know what I did wrong. it said melt 36oz of wax and I did, and I did weight it. . . . . Please tell me what did I do wrong????? AND because I didn't use the exact ingredients such as wick ECO 14 and Garden Fragrance only, what could be my possible issues once it cures, and I can burn it? what should I look for? I didn't melt anymore I just filled the glass half full and said well, this is trial and error so let's see. My next run will be exact directions. I couldn't wait I wanted to try so I don't mind the errors that could come. I did do a different one using my own formula but I will share later these both look and smell amazing but lets see how they burn."

Great Wax!

"First time buying this particular wax - I'm just getting into candle making and did a lot of reading and research to find what wax I should/wanted to use. Love this! And the burn time has been fantastic as well."

"Better than some other soy waxes I've used for candle making!"

Best soy

"I love this soy wax. When you find the right soy life is better for the candle make."

Carol Y. (5/5)

Simple soy wax with multiple uses.

"This is a wax with no additives best suited for experienced candlemakers. It will be crumbly looking without the addition of additives such as beeswax, or paraffin. What can you do with this wax? You can blend it, it can be used in bath and body products. It can be used in cold process soap. Also a good wax to modify other soy waxes. Can it be used in melts as is? NO!You can blend this wax with beeswax, or stearic, or hard paraffin and other additives and use it for melts. Can it make shaped candles? No! This wax is too soft and needs to be blended with harder waxes to do so, but not recommended unless experienced."

Love it!

"I don't mind needing to smooth out the tops of some of my candles, but some of them come out perfectly without needing a blast from my heat gun, so I need to start taking better notes of pouring temps apparently. I like that the melt point is a little higher; should come in handy during the warmer months. 8% fragrance load has been absolutely perfect with my wooden wicks. and holy moly, the birthday cake scent in this wax is AMAZING! 20lbs wasn't enough, so I'll be buying more very shortly! Awesome shipping time and packaging was excellent, as always!"

Q&A

Hi, why is the pour temperature so much lower than the heat to temp? Can it be poured around 150 degrees?
Hi Nichole, because this wax does not contain any additives, the lower pour temps may help mitigate any aesthetic issues such as glass adhesion or rough tops. Feel free to test and experiment with pouring temperatures to determine what yields optimal results for your recipe.
What wicks go well with this kind of wax
Hi Jessica, CD and ECO wicks work best with soy wax. We have best results with CD wicks and 415.
Nosotros recomendamos IGI 4625 o ProBlend 450.
What fragrance load % would give me a really strong HT? I tried 8%, but it isn't strong enough for me.
Hi Algina! This wax has a maximum fragrance load of 8-10%. You could up the fragrance load slightly. Also make sure that you are letting the candle cure for a minimum of 5-7 days since this is a pure soy wax. I hope this helps!
Hi! I am looking for a soy wax to use for wax melts. Which type do you think would be best for that purpose? Thanks so much!
Hi Amy! Currently all of our Soy waxes are container blends. They are not designed to be used for wax melts. We have had customers who have used these waxes for wax melts so we would recommend testing a small amount to see if the consistency is what you are looking for. Please let us know if you have any other questions, we are happy to help!

Golden Brands (AAK) GW 415 Soy Wax Flakes

AAK Golden Brands GW 415 soy wax is 100% pure and does not contain any additives.

With a slightly higher melt point, it allows for a higher fragrance load while maintaining excellent performance in container candles. GW 415 is designed for use in container candles and blends well with other waxes, such as paraffin and beeswax. A heat gun may be necessary to smooth out the tops of finished candles.

While it can be used on its own, frosting may occur, and a heat gun may be needed to smooth out candle tops. This all-natural soy wax is a great choice for those seeking a clean-burning, high-quality wax with strong fragrance potential!

Wax Properties:

Melt Point: 120 - 125°
