Flam goes out

"I have tried the xxl wooden witch and spent money on new large wooden wicks thinking I got a bad batch But I’ve wasted money again the wick won’t remain lit it’s frustrating to my customers and makes me look bad I sincerely want a refund"

Excelente un quemado perfecto

"Excelente un quemado perfecto"

I thought MY wicks would be different

"I should have listened to the reviews. Instead, I now have a bunch of trash, test candles. The wicks don't stay lit. 464 Soy Wax and I tested everything from 5%-10% FO. They're easy to light, but 2 secs later it's just out. Not sure what the issue is, but I can't consciously use any TFC wicks in the future."

Wooden Wick

"The wooden wicks and fragrances are excellent."

— Yolanda K. (5/5)

Dual wooden wick

"I love it compared to putting two together myself. I kinda mushroomed, but yours beautiful! Thanks!"

— Luciana A. (5/5)

inconsistent

"Tried these dual wicks for the first time. During testing in same container with same wax and same FO %. One container burned so hot it blackened everything. The next container it will barely stay lit and burns like crap."

Wood Wicks

"worked as intended"

— Karen B. (5/5)

Wooden Wick Fail

"I ordered the medium and large dual wicks and cannot get them to stay lit, the flame goes out within seconds and also the wicks separate when being lit."

— DeAjsha W. (1/5)

Love These Wicks

"I've shied away from using wooden wicks because I couldn't get an even burn. One last try ""VOILA Flaming Candle came through. These wicks are I PERFECT for my 3 1/4 in vessels. The flame is such a pretty shape and color."

— Joanne V. (5/5)

Worked great for the most part

"Some of my candles didn't seem to have too much ht with these but some still did. I am new to candle making so I wouldn't blame it on the wicks! "

Q&A

What is the difference between your regular wood wicks and your dual wood. Wicks ?
Although both are 0.04" thick, our single-ply wooden wicks are a single piece of wood while dual-ply are two pieces adhered together. Single-ply perform well in paraffin, and dual wood wicks may be the better choice for higher viscosity waxes such as beeswax or soy blends, or with a high usage of fragrance & colorants.
Do these come with the metal tabs as well?
Hi, our wooden wicks do come with wooden wick tabs.
I see on your resource page that these wicks perform well in paraffin, soy, and palm. I use the para soy problend and have a customer requesting wood wicks. Are these not known to perform well in this wax? Would you recommend dual as opposed to single?
Hi Bridget! Wooden wicks work well in para-soy blends, but they are notoriously tricky to work with! Due to the wax being almost 50/50, consider testing both the single-ply and dual wooden wicks to see which performs best for you and provides your desired results. The single ply is the same thickness as the dual (not to be confused with a booster) and performs well in paraffin-based waxes, while the dual may perform optimally in waxes with a higher soy content.
I purchased the wooden wicks, but they will not stay lit. What am I doing wrong? Do they need to be soaked before using them? Any advice is certainly appreciated. Thank you.
Hi Eva! Because there are so many variables that can affect candle and wick performance, feel free to email info@theflamingcandle.com with the type of wax used, fragrance load %, and container diameter so that we can better assist. Generally speaking, a wick that will not stay lit may be too small for the container, the wax too hard for the wick, or the wick may need trimmed. As these wicks are already primed, they do not require soaking. Trim wick to no more than 1/8" to 3/16‚" before lighting - It is very important to keep the wicks trimmed to no more than 1/8" to 3/16" before lighting. Trimming them longer than this will prevent the wax from pulling up the wick and will cause the flame to burn out. Please also review our website Resource Center and Troubleshooting page for potential causes & solutions.
