- New to candle making. For this jar what size wick should I use if I'm using coconut apricot wax?
- Hi Sheneka! We don't sell that particular type of wax and have not tested it, but you can try CD or ECO wicks. ECOs tend to burn slightly hotter than CDs and may require wicking down while CDs may perform better with a slightly larger wick size. We suggest starting CD testing in the 14 - 18 range, and ECOs in the 6 - 10 range. You can wick up or down from there based on your results.
- Which of your wicks would you prefer to be used for this?
- Hello We suggest the ECO 6 wick for soy wax or lower melt point paraffin waxes (such as single-pour waxes), vegetable/soy waxes, and beeswax are more viscous in nature and generally require a larger wick size than standard paraffin wax. Wooden wicks work well in this jar as well. We also recommend testing to see which wick sizes works best.
