As Wintery as it gets!

"Wonderful Balsam fragrance. No artificial undertones, either. Fresh, crisp and cool just as if you were walking through a forest full of balsams. Winter tree scents are a dime a dozen, but this one stands above the rest."

Q&A

Hi. Is this like Fraser Fir? What's the difference?
Hi Maria, Balsam Fir usually has a crisper, stronger, scent with more pine notes. Fraser Fir is typically a bit milder, usually with a slight citrusy scent and earthy, woodsier undertones. We recommend ordering a 1-oz bottle of each to small-batch test for comparison.
Im looking for a replacement for the candle science fraser fir as they have been sold out, which is similar and which do people prefer=the Frasier fir or the Balsam Fir ?
Thank you for reaching out to us. It depends which scent profile you are looking for as to which fragrance you may prefer. The Balsam Fir smells like a true Christmas tree. Whereas, the Frasier Fir has pine notes but is more on the perfume smelling side. Hope this helps!
Hi there- Can someone help/suggest which fragrance to choose from roasted pine or balsam fir. I have a customer who would like a pine, woodsy, spicy scent. If anyone has tried both I would appreciate the opinions prior to purchasing:) thanks in advance! Love the flaming candle!
Hi Lisa, These are both great woodsy "fresh" scents. However, these are both on the sweeter side. The balsam fir is very much like a pine musky scent if that is what you are looking for. We would suggest purchasing smaller amounts of these oils prior to larger to ensure they meet your expectations. Hope this helps!
I cannot get a good hot throw with the Balsam fir FO. I use a soy and food grade paraffin blend wax. I heat my way up to about 190-200 degrees Fahrenheit add 12% FO at about 180 degrees Fahrenheit and then pour at about 135 degrees. Any pointers!?
Hi Lisa! If you are using any soy wax in your blend you may need to let your candles cure for a minimum of 5-7 days. Also make sure that you are getting a full melt pool. For more troubleshooting advice check out our Resource Center or contact our customer service team, we are happy to help!
