Q&A

I have been trying so many wicks with this FO but can't seem to get it right. I have been trying for months so I was wondering if anyone could help. I am using IGI 6006 wax and a 9 ox brown amber jar. I have tried Eco 6, Zinc 60, Zinc 56 and premier 740. Do I need to double wick? Or is there another wick I need to try?

Hi, we've had good results with Zinc, Premier, and HTP wicks with IGI 6006. You can test double-wicking for safety and performance but you must ensure the candle does not burn too hot. Feel free to email info@theflamingcandle.com with your exact recipe and wicking results so far, and we'll be happy to assist further.

Can this be used on the body and mixed in with shea butter or with other fragrance oils? Should it be used directly on the body or should I mix it with carrier oils?

Sugar Cookie Royale can be safely used on the body. The product page on the website lists the maximum usage amounts for the IFRA categories in question. Categories 2, 3, 4, 5A, 5C, 7A, 7B, 9, 10A, 10B, and 12 all have a value of 100%. Please email info@theflamingcandle.com for more information, or if you would like to request the full IFRA document.

does sugar cookie Royale fragrance oil discolor either cold process soap or foaming body wash used as sugar scrub? I'm just wondering if I can use it in other applications since it smells so good.

Thank you for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, this fragrance has not yet been tested for cold process soap so we would not know exactly how it may perform. You can use this fragrance in a foaming body wash since it is deemed safe for body products in the liquid and bar soap category. Slight discoloration may occur due to the vanillin content in this fragrance. However, this would require conducting your own research and testing to see if it performs how you are wanting. Hope this helps!

Hello, I'm confused about the 100% usage in soaps. If I use 3oz of soap then I can use 3oz of FO max?

Yes, you are technically correct based on the IFRA percentage that you could use up to 3oz max of fragrance oil in your soap. However, please note that this number is only a maximum safety amount and is not necessarily what you would want to use in your product as stated below: "The maximum usage amounts are in compliance with IFRA standards, are provided for safety, and are not meant to serve as suggested usage amounts. It is up to the customer to determine the ideal usage amount for desired product integrity, while staying under the safety maximums. Many times the ideal usage amount is much lower than the maximum amount stated for safety.‚" Hope this helps!

Hello, I've recently purchased Sugar Cookie scent, it has the right notes however I keep smelling alcohol similar to nail polish within. Is this normal ? Does it mean fragrance may have expired ? I am putting 1oz per 1lb of wax. Thank you, Filomena

Hi Filomena! See how the fragrance performs in a finished product. Often fragrances are very strong our of the bottle and the notes do not smell the same as they do in wax. If you are still having issues with the fragrance please feel free to contact our customer service team for assistance. I hope this helps!
