Golden Brands GW 444 Soy Wax Flakes - 50 lb. Case
Golden Brands GW 444 is a natural soy wax containing a soy based additive to reduce frosting. The soy based additive and a higher melt point enable it to retain a higher fragrance load and improve scent throw. GW 444 is designed for use in container candles and blends well with other waxes, such as paraffin, slack, and microcrystalline wax. It is not recommended to blend GW 444 with beeswax.
Melt Point: 119 - 125°
Suggested Pouring Temperature: 125 - 145°
Advantages of using Golden Brands GW 444:
- Contains a soy based additive to reduce frosting and improve scent throw
- High fragrance load - 9% to 11% fragrance loads are possible
- Smooth and creamy look
- Comes in flake form

- Higher melt point helps to prevent candles from losing their form in warmer conditions
- Melt point: 119° to 125°
- Heat wax to around 185°
- Add dye if desired and mix thoroughly
- Add candle fragrance if desired and mix thoroughly
- Pouring temperatures should typically be around 125° to 145°, though experimentation is recommended to determine optimal pouring temperature

- Wait at least 24 hours before burning
- Wick testing is recommended to achieve optimal burning characteristics and will vary with different combinations of wax, fragrance, dye, and container size

I was previously using Eco-Soya cb135 and loved it, but when that was out of stock I got this because it seems to be popular. I don't know if I got a bad batch or what, but I hate this stuff. I've tried every temperature from 120 to 145 for pouring, I've tried heating and not heating my jars and I can't get a decent looking candle to save my life. Glass adhesion is poor. Some candles have sink holes, some don't. Out makes no sense as I have plenty of experience making candles, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the inconsistencies with this wax. I can't wait until I've used it all so I can go back to my reliable wax.

This is my first wax I started with and all my customers are extremely happy with the quality of the burn and the hot throw it gives. On my 3rd box. Easy to work with and makes a great candle.

This is the first soy wax that I have ever worked with. I followed the directions that were included with the order and have had no problems whatsoever. This wax makes a beautiful candle with a great scent throw. I am now ordering four to five 50 lb. cases at a time!

This was my first time using soy wax. I followed the directions included from Flaming Candle and used the recommended ECO14 wick for the 8 oz tins. I heated to 185, added fragrance at the appropriate flash points for the oils that I was using and poured around 140. So far I've made about 100 candles and they have all turned out beautifully! I've almost used the first 50 lbs. that I ordered and have just ordered an additional 50 lbs.
Very good wax!!!!

I noticed that this wax is better than other GW 464 Soy that I have bought from other candle supply stores. The flakes are nice and big and it melts wonderfully. My candles turned out great! I highly recommend!

I usually buy 20 pounds of soy wax chips and it runs out way too quickly when you burn candles and give them away as much I do. Decided to buy the 50 pound box instead and am very happy with the decision. Packed well and delivered quickly. Just felt bad for the UPS man who had to carry it. LOL!
